Teacher Profiles - Mrs. Jamilla


Have you ever wanted to know more about the teachers that are part of Tarbiyah Academy? Well, now’s your chance! At the Roaring News, we have officially decided to add Terrific Teachers to the Roaring News. Now you can find out some background information about Tarbiyah’s teachers and find out more about each of them. Let’s start Terrific Teachers by learning about the amazing first-grade’s homeroom teacher, Mrs. Jamilla!!! To start, do you know where Mrs. Jamilla is from? Can you guess? This place operates the biggest ferry fleet in the United States. This place has over 7.512 million people. This place grows the most apples in the United States. If you still can’t guess, It’s Washington State!


What is Mrs. Jamilla’s favorite food? It’s veggie lasagna! Did you know that in Italy, “Lasagna” doesn’t mean the food, it means the pot the lasagna is cooked in? A lot of people have favorite books growing up. Right now, a lot of people like fantasy books but that is not how it always is. So, let’s see what it is! Mrs. Jamilla’s favorite book is The Black Stallion. Mrs. Jamilla also liked board games while growing up, her favorites are Monopoly and Chinese Checkers. Did you know that Chinese Checkers was not made in China? It was made in Germany. Mrs. Jamilla’s favorite restaurant growing up was the Red Lobster. As you can guess it has mainly seafood at its restaurant but it’s very good. The Red Lobster is about fifty-four years old. Mrs. Jamilla had many favorite sports growing up, the main ones were swimming, field hockey, horse-back riding, and soccer. Do you think Mrs. Jamilla wanted to be a teacher when she was younger? Mrs. Jamilla wanted to do many different things at the time but the main things she liked the most were design, art, fashion and of course teaching. Then the second last question was: Is your year going well? The answer is: Yes, Alhumdulillah! My first year at Tarbiyah is going very well and I am receiving a lot of support from the TA community.

The last question will be… How do you feel about this school so far? My kids, Adam and Ibrahim Muzikir have attended TA since 1st grade. I am very attached to the school and love being a part of the TA world. Mrs. Jamilla answered. Whenever you see Mrs. Jamilla around, you can learn more.
