Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released on November 14th 2001, was a groundbreaking movie that changed the art of filming. Being the first movie in a series of 8 that follow Harry Potter and his friends as they fight off evil. Using their magic abilities, and Hermione's superabundant knowledge of the wizarding world, they caress the first movie, enjoy time with each other, and become close friends. These developments later end up in a very climactic finish for a first installment.
Harry, Hermione, and Ron are known by many potterheads as the main trio. They are the main group of characters that the movie follows. They all have their ups and downs in life, but did you know that the main trio was originally a duo? It's true! During the start of the movie/book, Hermione is introduced as an annoying know-it-all,trying to help a scared Nevile Longbottom. As she looks for Neville's toad(not a frog) she stumbles across the cabin where Ron and Harry are residing. In the movie, Ron and Harry sat in the same cabin because of the lack of space in the front of the train. After a bit of a talk, the two instantly bond.
After a while, the snack cart came around and Ron didn't have enough to get a snack for himself, but Harry, being as generous as he is, BOUGHT THE WHOLE CART LOAD!!!! They enjoyed their snacks, hoping not to become as fat as Dudley Dursley, the cousin of young Harry Potter. Then, Hermionie barges in and asks about Neville's toad. After that, Ron labels her as a good for nothing Know-it-all.as the movie progresses, a troll attacks the school, Hogwarts(which Harry and Ron are attending). They realized Hermionie was in danger, and rushed to find her. After rushing down to the dungeons, they found her and saw the troll. The trio fought it off, only to lose 5 house points, and gain 10.
Again, fast forward to the end of the movie, where the last major event occurs. In this scene, the trio escapes from devils snare, fight their way through a room in chess, where they lose Ron. Then they enter a room with a table of potion , only to blocked off by fire. These potions allow them to pass through a fire with the help of a riddle. After this, he is faced with a challenge of realizing that only the worthy shall hold the sorcerer's stone, a sacred object that can prolong life spans for hundreds of years. In the UK, the book's title was Philosopher's Stone, not Sorcerer's Stone, and this was a hint to how the owner of the stone was both. After a little encounter with Quirrel who was possessed by Voldemort, an evil spirit who was responsible for the Potter family's death, Harry leaves the chamber unconscious, in the arms of the school's headmaster, Albus Dumbledore. Wait a minute, am I skipping the fight between good and bad? Of course it wasn't a small encounter. In fact, it may have been the most pivotal moment in young Potter's life. During this encounter, Voldemort, using Quirrel as a host body, attacks Harry. Harry, thanks to a little magic known as love, disintegrates Quirrel, and makes Voldemort fly away into the distance, desperate for a body. After this, Gryffindor(Harry's house) wins the house cup due to the trio's heroic actions. The movie closes with a sentimental goodbye, and see you next year.
